Comtemplative Prayer of St Teresa

Convent life became ordered and settled with Teresa in place as the Prioress and she often described the five years she spent there from 1562 to 1567 as the most peaceful of her life. At this time she added a treatise on prayer to her Life together with four chapters describing a vision of her struggles that had brought her so far. Teresa was able to devote herself to leading her group of nuns into deeper prayer, practicing humility, obedience, submission, complete love for God and for the salvation of souls.
